One of the things I loved in French is that tu vs. vous was either singular/plural or casual/formal... well, not that it was both (although I LOVED having a word for y'all, I really did!), but that there was a way to indicate you were being formal built into the language.
So I bet the Callanthe have something like that, in both cases. A plural, and a formal/to-a-superior.
